To all our friends and partners,
All of us – the Jewish people in Israel and across the globe alongside the staunch supporters and friends of the State of Israel, feel immense pain as we attempt to come to terms with the inconceivable, brutal massacre of hundreds of children, men, and women, by Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists.
We are all joined in grief, and in a shared purpose.
Israel is currently in one of the most difficult periods of itsexistence. While we here in Israel fight for our homes, while tens of thousands of fighters are mobilized, we recognize the importance of the mission that will be our priority after the battle is won – to rehabilitate and support the thousands of wounded combatants that will surely be joining our ranks.
It is heartening to see the spirit of our people, in Israel as well as in Jewish communities the world over, as they stand by us during this time. This is why I am certain that in this war too, we will emerge triumphant. I hear the stories of countless young Israelis determined to make their way back home from vacations on different continents, and their determination is the sign that we will see this dark period through.
Our task is clear: to contribute, in every way possible, to assist and support those who went to fight to defend the State of Israel and returned wounded in body and soul, offering them the tools and the means to heal and rebuild their lives.
Solidarity is a term with a broad definition, but I wish to use it here within our own context: For us, the solidarity of the ZDVO, the ZDVF, the Beit Halochem associations and our thousands of donors throughout the world, constitutes the basisof our very strength during these difficult times.
United we all stand.
I am, now more than ever, in awe and honored by your continued efforts.
