Zoom Meeting with Brig. Gen. (Res.) Avigdor Kahalani

 

To mark the 53rd anniversary of the Six-Day War, we held a fascinating international zoom meeting with Brigadier-General (Res.) Avigdor Kahalani, recipient of the Medal of Distinguished Service for his actions during the Six-Day War, where he was severely wounded, and awarded the highest military decoration, the Medal of Valor, for his actions during the Yom Kippur war. Kahalani, member of Beit Halochem Tel Aviv, captivated the audience as he recounted the magnificent story about his heroic military service and the momentous battles he fought in Israeli wars. The participants, over 100, joined from all over the world – Canada, Argentina, USA, Brazil, South Africa, England, the Netherlands, Mexico, France, Switzerland, and Israel. They included representatives of the Friends Association of ZDVO, donors and supporters, who were thrilled with his story, asked him questions and maintained an engaging conversation. Due to the current situation, we were forced to cancel the annual Beit Halochem Security Conference, as well as other events and donors visits. Nevertheless, our relationship with our dear donors continues to be strengthened in every possible way, and we truly thank them for their continuing commitment and support for our organization and our disabled veterans.
